Terms of Use

Effective 10 November 2024

Please read these terms carefully before using the services provided by eFutureBox, the holder of the Samtv Player application, including the playlist manager at samtvplayer.com/manage. By accessing and using this site you enter into a legally binding agreement with eFutureBox. Terms not defined here carry the meaning given to them in our Privacy Policy, which you also agree to by using this site.

Acceptance of these terms

Your access to and use of Samtv Player is subject to these Terms of Use. The Service is not to be used for any unlawful purpose, or in any way these terms prohibit. Accepting these terms is mandatory in order to use the Service. If you do not accept them, you must stop using the Service.

Additional policies

Using our Service means you accept the policies below. They are extensions of this agreement, and any use beyond what they describe is prohibited. Where a violation occurs, responsibility lies with the user alone.

Permitted use cases

Samtv Player is a player. You bring the playlist, and you are responsible for holding the rights to everything you play through it. These are the uses the Service is intended for:

  • Authorised corporate or institutional IPTV. Companies, universities, hospitals and hotels running private internal networks to broadcast licensed content, internal training or live events to their own users and guests across multiple screens.
  • Licensed content distribution. Small and mid-sized broadcasters or video-on-demand services providing an M3U playlist to their paying subscribers as a flexible way to reach content they have legally licensed, letting subscribers use the player they prefer.
  • Free-to-air channels. Many public broadcasters and independent channels publish an official, free M3U stream. You may compile a playlist of these public, authorised streams and use the player to organise them.
  • Personal media and home servers. If you run a personal media server or a home automation system, you may generate a playlist of media you legally own or purchased — films, music, home videos — and stream it to your TV through the app.
  • Live events and conferences. Organisations may broadcast conferences, meetings or services from a secure private stream URL to authorised internal members or paying online attendees.
  • Testing and development. Developers, streaming platform engineers and QA professionals may use the player to test HLS and M3U8 streams for compatibility, quality and playback ahead of launch.

Who these products are for

Using our Service means you confirm that you fall within one of the groups below. Any use outside them is prohibited, and responsibility for a violation lies with the user alone.

  • IT and AV professionals. Those installing and configuring the player on corporate display systems, hotel televisions or campus networks, to manage officially licensed or internal feeds for which they hold the proper copyright permission.
  • Broadcasters and VOD services. Those distributing an M3U playlist to their own paying subscribers as a route to content they have legally licensed.
  • Hospitality and retail businesses. Those managing a controlled set of channels — promotional videos, information channels, or officially licensed news — on lobby or retail screens from a pre-set playlist they hold the rights to.
  • Media enthusiasts and technologists. Those who want one customisable interface to organise their authorised streaming sources, including free public streams and their own media server content, on a single device.
  • Small content creators and niche broadcasters. Those who give paying customers an M3U playlist as the means of reaching exclusive licensed content, rather than requiring a proprietary app.
  • Expatriates and global citizens, in limited use. Those combining legal streams from their home country's public broadcasters with a legally acquired premium subscription, where one is offered as a playlist, to consolidate their viewing.

What Samtv Player is not

Samtv Player is a media player. It does not host, stream, sell or supply any channel, film or series, and it arrives with no content of any kind. Everything you play through it comes from a playlist you add yourself. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility for, the content, availability or legality of any third-party stream you choose to load.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We make no warranty as to quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security or accuracy.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, eFutureBox will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage — including, without limitation, loss of business, opportunity, data or profits — arising out of or in connection with the use of the Service.
  • There is no warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service or its servers are free of harmful components.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits the liability of eFutureBox for personal injury caused by the negligence of eFutureBox, its employees or its agents.

Private home viewing

Unless you fall within one of the business or institutional groups described above and hold the rights required for that use, the Service is provided for your private, non-commercial use in your home only. It must not be used or viewed in public spaces, commercial establishments or additional residential locations. Unauthorised use may lead to disconnection without refund.

Programming restrictions and minimum requirements

Certain services may be unavailable in your area because of programming restrictions. eFutureBox reserves the right to alter minimum programming requirements at any time.

VPN or proxy use

Using a VPN or proxy server with the Service is prohibited and may result in permanent suspension of your device.

Compatibility and internet service

Access to the Service requires a device that meets our system and compatibility prerequisites. You are responsible for your own internet service and any data usage it incurs.

Payment information and billing

Payment information is shared with banks and payment processors only as far as necessary to take a payment. While we use modern security measures, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of payment information. Misuse of payment information by a third party is not our liability.

Rates and prices

You acknowledge that you have been informed of the nature of the Service and of its rates and charges, which are subject to change. Payments are due immediately, are non-refundable, and remain subject to these terms even if the Service is suspended, terminated or transferred.

Trial and refunds

Every device gets a free seven-day trial before you pay anything. Use it to confirm the player works on your hardware, with your playlist and your connection. After that it is one payment per device.

Because the trial exists, we do not offer refunds for issues arising after purchase — including device malfunction or problems with your internet connection — and we cannot guarantee the uninterrupted functionality of any given channel, since the channels are not ours. Review your order carefully: all sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges unless the Service was not delivered as advertised, or where a refund is required by law.
